Sunny Sydney indeed, well, yes, today the sun shone on the first walk for the groovy group of walkers who will walk Sydney, not only for exploration but for health, fun, searching for secret Sydney spots, social enjoyment with special routes researched with the promise of rewarding coffee at the end, hopefully. Or, if preferred the best veto/fruit juices to be found in areas explored. Rewards are a good thing.
Today Berry Island, home to The Sydney Jazz Club, home to birds, home to Aboriginal sites of shell middens and axe grinding grooves truly a worthwhile destination. for Walk Number One.
Views of Anzac Bridge, The Bridge, the tanks at Greenwich (one person liked them) Birchgrove and Balmain and more. Easy. Walking boots scarcely required for this one.
Uphill we walked, breathless a bit on to the delightful little Wollstonecraft cafe for the best health fruit drinks and coffee.
Now, rules are rules and if the readers who are also walkers read this, you are reminded to walk more and more and more. Around the block will do. Around the suburb evene better. Perhaps a few Kms..? Keep a note, keep a scoreboard, add up and on. It will be satisfying and possibly addictive. How good would that be?!
Our North Shore Heart Research Foundation tells us that women die more from heart disease than from any other single factor, so take heart, no pun intended, take exercise and you will be right.
Join in, walk enough to get a little Huffy Puffy and tell me that you did. Please.
Next week the Gore Cove Walk beginning at the little bridge in Greenwich....
Walk done by Jane, Donna, Wendy, Carolle
