50 - Bluegum Walk/Benowie

50th Walk!!
An achievement for the Whacky  Wise Women of Sydney

50 ticked, done, blogged, photographed, enjoyed, 50 in 15 months

Fifty!  Some of us have done all 50 walks , some of us  have done less but Fifty is now the number on our Score Sheet.   Celebration it has to be and we will do that soon.Champagne coming up.
What is our average age?   At a guess, possibly 68.   All these walks have been  within 30Kms of the CBD.
What next then for us then?  Another 50 of course, more  walks waiting for us to hit the trail.   I know of  one certain repeat walk to be done fairly soon, in Spring.  That is the Manly Wildflower Circuit  Definitely a repeat there but after that there are  another brand new 50 walks on my List. So much to see and enjoy and as I always say, Sydney is full of undiscovered secrets.

The Bluegum Walk near Hornsby is an absolute joy.   Anyone who enjoys the outdoors and a bit of a walk, or even a little challenge should do this walk.   It has many elements, yes, a little challenge but not over taxing,  there are creeks, a stand of Sydney Blue gums, Angophoras, Water Gums, pink wax flowers, an abundance of flannel flowers  in bud.   The bracken is  richly green and lush. Fishponds waterhole is a magical atrraction.  Tumbling great boulders  and rocky overhangs, rock ledges and steps to test your clamber skills, bush paths as well as a good fire trail, all  exhilrating, exciting and alway enticing.  Creeks with rushing water.  what a joy.  Remember  the drought! How dry  some walks were then.     Trees dominated, towered above us majestically and sometimes mystically.
