Walk 47 - The Cascades Track - Garigal National Park

The Cascades Track led down hill from Douglas Street in St Ives  along a management trail into Garigal National Park, a track  which was easy to follow.  As we wound  down through the Scribbly Gums, Sydney Red gums and Red Bloodwoods we came across the beginnings of early spring flowers, Boronia, wax flowers, Wattle.   There were some frighteningly steep paths descending to the creek from our track.
The Cascades are a series of beautiful rock pools, little waterfalls and rocky platforms in a wide valley.   Somewhere there is an old 1928  sandstone wall built to dam the first pool for swimming a past-time  which is no longer recommended!
The return walk afforded much Huff Puff uphill.   Coffee at Cafe Santis, St Ives away from the hurly burly of the main drag of the shopping centre.

Walkers:  Donna, Pippa, Moira, Marie-Claire, Carolle

  1. Hi Carolle, we love the first image of the creek, would it be alright for us to use your picture for one of our designs? Please let me know the best way to contact you - my email is studio@madeagency.com
